Portfolio Project Week #9, Post #1

 Reflection

Well, I've finally finished my opening. It was a very long process which I may have dragged out via procrastination. However, I have reached the end. I'm very proud of how my project turned out.

Throughout this whole project I've experienced a part of the process that goes into filmmaking, firsthand. Filming and editing were two major parts of the project that taught me valuable lessons. Filming taught me the importance of adaptation, and to check your shots (for things such as major lighting errors). Editing taught me how to edit (obviously) and the significance of time management. I managed my time horribly on the project, which paved the way for errors/mistakes and things that should not have been an issue, becoming an issues. However, through all of this I did manage to get it all done and I am happy with how it came out.

CCR

With the film opening done, I now must work on the CCR. I have written the scrip and I am about to film. I plan to talk to the camera going off the script, but not reading it word-for-word. I will edit in pictures, videos, etc., so it is not just a talking head.

Here is a part of the script:

When I film, I have to have a weird set up. I have my computer on some books, and my phone on a tissue box. This is so the angle looked right but I could also see my script without my phone blocking it.

Portfolio Project Week #8, Post #3

 Finishing the opening...

Today was the day where I finally finished the opening. The last step I had left was to edit in the clips of Riley running the track. This took some time as I had to: first, make room for the clips; then, put them in and line them up correctly; and last, put in a security camera effect which I followed a tutorial for. I used several effects that were new to me. Here is what the clips look like:
I'm glad to have finally finished editing the opening. It was a very long process, which I may have dragged out a little bit. Over this weekend, I have to write, film, and edit my CCR. This will be taking up most of my free time I have this weekend (which is not a lot) but it should be a fun process.
