Music Marketing Blog Post #1

Music Marketing Blog

This project started out slightly challenging as I was absent two classes and could not discuss the early stages of planning.  My group had asked me if the song they chose was good and I said yes. The next class, where I was present, we came up with a very basic concept of our artist and information about him (pictured above). We named  him "Ryker" and decided that he would keep his face anonymous and only use mask, using a different mask for each genre. The song we chose was an electronic-style song, so we figured he would go with a vibrant glowing mask for this song. More challenges started to arise while working more on the campaign as all 4 of us would have different ideas on what we wanted to do. However, we were eventually able to share our ideas and compromise and we were able to work more quickly.

We decided to start creating what we needed for our presentation. We used websites and apps such as Google Docs and Slides, Canva, and Wix. Google Docs and Slides were helpful in organizing our information and getting it presentation-ready, such as the song title/opening slide (pictured at the bottom); Canva was useful in creating a logo and designing merchandise, such as t-shirts and beanies; and Wix was utilized to create the website. Using Canva, we created a secondary logo that would be used to promote Ryker's new album, which is shown directly below.

We want to have roughly half of our presentation done on Friday so we can plan our music video. It will be filmed Friday after school and will be edited over the weekend. The very little time left will be spent finishing up and practicing the presentation. Though this project has been challenging at times, we have managed to work it out and cannot wait to introduce "Ryker Strikes!"
